Bird & Bao
This Taiwanese fast casual restaurant is in the heart of down town Patchogue. A village on the south shore of Long Island, which is known for having recently undergone a transformation and is now a thriving downtown with burgeoning restaurant and nightlife scene. This is the first solo venture for a chief with a background at some well-established Asian fusion restaurants in Manhattan. The small space is bright and clean, with a modern white aesthetic, splashed with warm wood and black logos. Bello architects worked hand in hand with the owner, and contractor to see the space transformed from a former dry retail space, to open for business. This entailed public hearings, and receiving approvals from the village building department, Suffolk county heath department, and Suffolk County department of public works.
