Washington Residence

This north shore half acre site with Its existing 800 sf cottage is an excellent example of a generative architecture process of analysis and synthesis.  The challenge presented to our team was to renovate the existing cottage and seamlessly add 2,500 sf of one-story living space with a completely open floor plan and to incorporating as much natural light with respect to privacy as possible.  The results reveal a simple and strong transformation of space with carefully crafted natural light exposure that recreates the well-appointed interiors as the days and months change.  There is true balance and harmony between the interior and exterior spaces.  Inspirations of Wrights prairie style architecture are apparent in this one of a kind residence which features stunning interior millwork and detailing.

Bunker Hill American Taproom

This project started when the owner of a long-established bar in Wantagh had the opportunity to lease the adjoining space. Seizing the opportunity to more than double the size of the bar, and finally having the space needed to add a kitchen and open the business up to a bigger audience. The project faced many challenges from special approval for parking, to planning the renovation to minimize the time the business would need to close down. The space was taken from a narrow dark bar, in the classic  Irish pub style, to a modern American Style

Prato850 Wood Fired Gastropub

When the owners of the well established ‘Ciao Baby’ restaurant of Commack NY knew it was time to reinvent and rebrand their approach they called upon us at Bello Architects to create a new establishment that would be Italian inspired but American crafted.  As their new name Prato 850 Wood Fired Gastro Pub signifies its design reveals details of old-world Tuscany with juxtaposed modern American gastro pub features.  In keeping with this design concept, we created a large open gastro pub bar interior that opens directly to the exterior dining and lounge area.  It’s the center piece of where the old world meets the new.  We recommend you dine alfresco!

Abbey Street

This Cape Cod home underwent a complete renovation in order to create much needed additional living space. The first floor was extended to accommodate a finely finished, yet casual kitchen and front porch. The old roof structure was removed and a new second floor emerged with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. The exterior exhibits some traditional touches with stone and timber beams. A sweeping roofline is supported by a bracket and corbels help to support a detailed gable end.

Bird & Bao

This Taiwanese fast casual restaurant is in the heart of down town Patchogue. A village  on the south shore of Long Island, which is known for having recently undergone  a transformation and is now a thriving downtown with burgeoning restaurant and nightlife scene.  This is the first solo venture for a chief with a background at some well-established Asian fusion restaurants in Manhattan.  The small space is bright and clean, with a modern white aesthetic, splashed with warm wood and black logos. Bello architects worked hand in hand with the owner, and contractor to see the space transformed from a former dry retail space, to open for business. This entailed public hearings, and receiving approvals from the village building department, Suffolk county heath department, and Suffolk County department of public works.
